Pre-Entry Activities

The Access Service runs an outreach programme targeted at students attending second level schools in the local area and at mature students. The programmes on offer are listed below.

Free Creative Arts Summer School - 1 Week, 5 Colleges

Do you want to explore your creative interests and meet other like-minded people?

Do you want to pursue a career in the creative industries in Ireland?

Do you want to try out different artforms in colleges in Dublin in an exploratory and fun way?

 

The Creative Arts Summer School will take place in Dublin from Monday 24 – Friday 28 June 2019.  Funded by the Department of Education and Skills Progression for Access to Higher Education (PATH) fund, this is a collaboration between the National College of Art and Design, Trinity College Dublin, Marino Institute of Education, University College Dublin and the Institute of Art, Design and Technology.

Successful applicants will spend one day in each college and transport will be provided from NCAD to UCD, IADT and Marino Institute of Education for those who need it. It will take place from Monday 24th – Friday 28th June 2019.

Junior Explore IADT

This programme invites 2nd-year students in groups of 25 to attend IADT for one morning, during which they will receive a campus tour and participate in a workshop on studying at third level.

Mind Your Media@IADT

This programme invites transition year students from our local schools onto campus to attend an interactive workshop on how to manage their social media profiles when entering the world of work. This initiative is run by volunteer students at the college supported by the Department of Entrepreneurship through the ENACTUS social entrepreneurship scheme. 

Mature Discover IADT

This programme offers an information session to mature students in various Further Education or other locations interested in studying at IADT. The session covers the courses we offer, the mature entry route and student finance. Groups of students are welcome to visit campus also.
