Student Assistance Fund (SAF)
The SAF provides discretionary financial support to students who face financial difficulties. The SAF is co-funded by the Irish government and European Union under the European Social Fund Human Capital Investment Programme 2007-2013 and administered by the National Office for Equity of Access to Higher Education. An allocation is made to each state-funded higher education institution annually.
Unfortunately there is insufficient money allocated to SAF to respond to all requests in any given year. It is generally used to provide short-term, emergency support in particular areas such as class materials, childcare and transport costs. The SAF is unable to deal with long-term problems such as accommodation costs, tuition fees or student loans. A confidential application form must be completed when requesting financial assistance and receipts must be presented in respect of all monies allocated. Forms are available from the Students’ Union Office and will also be posted on this page when the next round of the SAF is announced.
If you have any query on the SAF, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Fund for Students with Disabilities
This fund is made available by the National Office for Equity of Access to Higher Education to support the educational and technological needs of students with disabilities (including students with significant ongoing illness or specific learning difficulties) in higher education.
The IADT Access Office will make the application to the fund on the student’s behalf, on the basis of an agreed needs assessment.
