Lisa Burke

Lisa Burke graduated from Creative Media Technologies at IADT in 2011. Here she talks about her memories of college life and how it prepared her for her future career.

What did you like about your course at IADT?

During my time in IADT not only did I have the chance to study the subjects I was interested in and passionate about but I also made some friends for life, and for that I'll always be grateful. The thing I liked most about the course was that it was so hands on, we didn't just read about the subjects but we got up close and personal with them also. For instance, electronics just wouldn't be half as interesting if you weren't given the chance to use the theory to build functioning items - even if the circuits didn't always work out as planned!

What do you do now?

I'm currently working full time in a Dublin based production company (Tyrone Productions) and freelancing across a range of video, radio and post production work also. My studies at IADT helped prepare me for my job by helping me gain a better understanding of AV (Audio Visual) theory and the equipment used in the sector.

Is there any particularly memorable event from your time at IADT?

I have a lot of fond memories of my time at IADT most of which come from the social aspect of the course, but my fondest memory of the coursework that I have was the time inside the TV studio, this is what helped me to realise my passion for television production and that this was what I wanted to build my career around.
