Research Areas

Most research at IADT is conducted within our Faculties of Enterprise + Humanities and Film, Art + Creative Technologies, where many of the academic staff have significant research profiles.

Over the years we have led and participated in many EU and nationally funded projects in areas such as mobile technology, mLearning, pedagogy, assistive technologies and cyberpsychology, amongst others. Our bigger areas of research are clustered into research centres. We also have a cohort of research students pursuing MA and MSc awards. While these students should give you some indication of who to contact regarding research at IADT, our research administrator Linda Carroll is also available to answer your queries.

IADT’s Research Strategy sets the background for all of the functions in this area. IADT also has a research and development sub-committee of academic council, chaired by Dr Mark Riordan, which has many functions. These are fully detailed in the Research Strategy document.

The Directorate of Creativity, Innovation + Research promotes and coordinates research at IADT in accordance with the research policy.

IADT is committed to developing the research and practice culture at the Institute. As part of this mission we publish a journal of staff research and practice approximately every two years. The journal which reflects the broad remit of IADT is known as ‘Perspectives’. Past issues are available at the following links:
