Olympic Champion, Dr Ronnie Delany presents Certificate in Sport Psychology

IADT was delighted to welcome a very special guest – Ireland’s 1956 Melbourne 1500m Olympic Champion, Dr Ron (Ronnie) Delany – to present the Certificate in Sport Psychology graduating class of 2017/8 with their awards.

Our graduates, students and guests were also treated on the night to a once-in-a-life-time screening of the 1956 Olympic 1500m final race, followed by a fascinating Questions and Answers session with Ronnie, who was truly inspirational to listen to, as he chatted away about various aspects of his athletic career. Ronnie imparted some excellent sporting, and indeed, life advice to the audience. It was a fantastic evening for all those lucky enough to be present. Ronnie also expressed his great pleasure at being invited to be our special 2018 sport star guest on our night of celebration, in recognition of IADT’s Sport Psychology graduates’ achievements.

The visit was organised and hosted by IADT's own Sport Psychology Lecturer and author of the new textbook, Sport Cyberpsychology (Routledge, 2018), Dr Olivia Hurley.

Our sincere thanks to Ronnie for giving of his time so generously to take part in this wonderfully memorable evening for all of our IADT Sport Psychology graduates, students and special guests.
