Terms and Conditions

Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology cannot be responsible for any contract or agreement between the parties. The Institute's only function is to provide the necessary information and to bring the owner and prospective tenant together.

To get registered onto this list pleae fill out the Accommodation Provider Application Form.

It is the student’s responsibility to choose from the list. The IADT does not guarantee that students will avail of your offer.

Each student accommodated should be facilitated in the following basic requirements:

  1. Accommodation should be clean and comfortable
  2. A separate bed for each student (bunk beds are not recommended)
  3. No more than two persons per bedroom
  4. Adequate wardrobe space and storage space for books/material
  5. Adequate bathroom and/or shower facilities
  6. Study desk, chair, adequate lighting and heating
  7. Tenants are entitled to reasonable privacy & quiet to facilitate study & relaxation.
  8. Each tenant should be provided with a key to access accommodation
  9. In accommodation where meals are provided standard menus are expected, taking into account the tastes and requirements of the individual.  Substantial meals should be provided
  10. Receipts must be issued for all payments

The Institute reserves the right to remove your name from the list and future lists.

Completed application forms are accepted on the understanding that the provider has read and agreed to the above.

Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design & Technology will not recommend accommodation charges. You should discuss all your terms and conditions with the prospective tenant in advance, such as rent due dates, notice (usually 1-2 weeks) deposit (usually two weeks max.), Christmas and Easter arrangements, meal times, quiet hours, smoking and any other house rules.

Complaints – Students or Landlord/lady who feel they have cause to complain are advised to discuss these matters frankly with each other – earlier rather than later, as it takes time to work out what each expects of the other.  Tolerance and a willingness to co-operate is needed on both sides.
