When vacancies become available for permanent whole time and long term temporary whole time posts, as well as contract and pro-rata part-time posts, they are filled by way of public competition or in accordance with such rules as may be agreed from time to time. Notice of public competitions is placed in one of the national newspapers, currently Irish Times on Friday and / or Sunday Independent as well as on our web site.
Applications for such vacancies must be submitted securely online as per (c) above. Completing and submitting an online application form takes time and our guidelines should assist you in planning and preparing your submission.

These may be published in local newspapers or circulated to agencies including FAS, Local Colleges of Further and Higher Education, etc. Alternatively the Institute may invite individuals from a panel of unsolicited Curriculum Vitae (CVs) maintained on an ongoing basis to attend for interview. Unsolicited CVs are acknowledged by the HR Office on receipt. They are retained on file for a period of one year from date of receipt following which they are shredded in accordance with our records management policy.
