Masters by Research
IADT offers Masters by Research places each year. To be eligible for consideration to undertake a programme of study for a Master’s degree by Research, a candidate must have obtained a standard of at least Second Class Honours in an approved primary degree or equivalent.
Normally the duration of studies leading to the degree of Masters (Research) is two academic years from the date of admission on the Master’s register. Students will complete a research methodologies module and will have a designated supervisor. They will have access to IADT facilities including library, computers and student services.

Research Areas:
IADT research focuses on the following themes: Creative Arts and Media, Public Cultures, Entrepreneurship, Applied Psychology and Digital Technologies. IADT has both specific projects on which it would like students to carry out research; and also research areas in which potential applicants may have their own research idea or project on which they wish to work on with an appropriate supervisor. Staff across the Institute are qualified and experienced in masters’ research supervision.
