About Certificate in Mobile Software Development iOS
Level 8 Award (10 ECTS credits)
Application: IADT
What is Mobile Software Development?
Mobile computing devices, such as mobile phones, smartphones and tablet computers, have become increasingly popular in the last 3-4 years. This has led to an increase in the demand for applications (or ‘apps’) for these devices. These devices typically use an operating system (such as Apple’s iOS or Google’s Android) that is tailored to the mobile nature of these devices. This in turn requires software developers to be aware of the requirements of these platforms when developing mobile applications.
The two programmes aim to provide students with the skills required to develop software for the iOS and Android operating systems respectively.
On completion of the programme, you will be able to:
- Describe the components of a mobile computing platform;
- Explain the opportunities and limitations associated with mobile computing;
- Design, develop and deploy mobile computing applications; Integrate mobile computing applications with existing web and enterprise applications.
Aims and Objectives
Applications must be made to the Admissions Office in IADT. 1st round of applications: 10th May 2012 . 2nd round of applications (if places available): 17th August 2012.
