School of Business and Humanities
The School’s goal is to be a recognised centre of excellence for Business and Humanities education. We are achieving this through unique interdisciplinary programmes that focus on the knowledge, media and entertainment sectors.
The School of Business and Humanities consists of two Departments:
- Business and Enterprise
- Humanities
The School offers programmes at Level 5, 7, 8 and 9 (undergraduate and postgraduate). Our business programmes cover all aspects of business, specialising in enterprise and entrepreneurship. We also offer a unique degree in Arts Management. Emphasis is placed on the acquisition of practical business skills and competencies, including critical thinking for entrepreneurs. Our BA (Hons) in English, Media and Cultural studies is an exciting degree with modules in cultural theory, globalisation, media studies and English literature.
Since the School was established in 1998, excellence is at the heart of everything we do. We invite guest lecturers from business, the arts, culture and media sectors; we have established close links with local, national and international business and the cultural industries, as well as the public sector; and staff have an extensive employment and research profile, which complements teaching practice and the delivery of our programmes.
In keeping with the School’s unique range of programmes, we offer two postgraduate programmes: an MA in Public Culture Studies and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business in Cultural Event Management.
Four accredited Special Purpose Awards are now offered in Online Business Trading, Enterprise Development, Creative Writing and Citizenship and Society
