Technology Transfer
The IADT Technology Transfer Office (TTO) is committed to the commercialisation of research and the transfer of technology from IADT to the world of industry and commerce. Colleagues and students involved in this activity will receive fair financial reward as well as due recognition for their work.
The principal vehicles for commercialisation will be through licensing of intellectual property to a third party or through the formation of a campus company or a joint venture. The Technology Transfer Office will assist in drawing up a beneficial IP package to be agreed with a prospective user or partner or in drafting a business plan towards the formation of a campus or spin-out company or a joint venture.
Legal details will be finalised with IADT legal advisors in line with the Institute's IP policy. Patenting and commercialisation will only be pursued if the technology warrants it and if the researchers support the process.
