Welcome to the Teaching and Learning section of the IADT website.
Teaching and learning in IADT is supported and developed by the Teaching and Learning Committee. This is a representative sub-committee of Academic Council. The work of the Committee is determined by its terms of reference. The Teaching and Learning Committee draws it members from across the Institute – from the three schools, the Library, Access and ICT and includes the Registrar and the Staff Training Learning and Development Officer.
Teaching and learning in IADT is led by the Head of Department of Learning Sciences Dr Marion Palmer with the support of the cross-Institute administrator Laura Devlin. Elearning is supported by the eLearning Project Officer Muiris O’Grady and ICT. Staff development for teaching and learning is supported by the Staff Training Learning and Development Officer Mary Anne O’Carroll.

The Institute aims to help students to reach their potential through the provision of a supportive, vibrant and challenging learning environment. All staff is involved in the construction of this learning environment. All students are valued equally during their learning journey with IADT. Accordingly the curriculum, teaching and learning and assessment at IADT are centred on the student.
