06-08-2009

IADT welcomes the recent announcement by the Minister for Education and Science, Batt O’Keeffe, that new building projects for IADT have been tendered through the Public Private Partnership programme.

Commenting on the announcement, IADT President, Jim Devine said: “The inclusion of key developments at IADT in the first higher education PPP projects to be tendered is a major boost at time of great economic difficulty and underscores the confidence of Government in the contribution of IADT to the national plan and to national recovery and the strategic importance of the  development of our campus. Under this programme, a new digital media teaching facility, a multi-purpose hall and new workshops will be constructed and it is anticipated that these will be completed in 2012. Construction of new facilities for our Film School will get underway even sooner, with completion planned for mid 2011.  I warmely welcome these developments, which will enable IADT to grow student numbers and to provide first class facilities for teaching and research.”
