New National Film School Building and Facilities Upgrades Confirmed for IADT

We welcome the announcement by the Minister for Education and Science, Batt O'Keeffe T.D. of the scheme within the Institutes of Technology sector for renewal and upgrading of ICT facilities and for the completion of small-scale building improvements. IADT will benefit under this fund by more that 0.5m Euro this year.
We have also been given approval to submit the National Film School building for planning permission - a project with a build cost of 7.1m Euro.
These announcements are very good news and ensure that, even as we are grappling with very difficult challenges in respect of recurrent funding, investment in buildings and essential infrastructure is continuing. We can confidently plan for the medium term, while at the same time focusing on the immediate problems associated with this recessionary period.
