Student Enterprise Week from 25th January to 1st February on IADT campus
27-01-2009
Once again, we are delighted to announce Enterprise Week January 25th – February 1st.
Things kick off this year with the 1st year Enterprise students trading at the CoCo Markets in Dun Laoghaire People's Park. Their wide selection of products include; home-made jewellery, Polish style winter hats, 'Carter Beauty' body oils, woolly hats and ladies designer (Greenhouse) clothing. In case you don’t catch them on Sunday, they’ll be selling during Enterprise Week (Mon and Tues Atrium) and again in Dun Laoghaire next Sunday.
The key note Enterprise Lecture will be delivered by Niall Cogley, CEO Setanta Ireland who will share his own experience as former Director of Sport at RTE, his switch to Setanta and the challenges faced in becoming the best contender to Sky Sports. (Wed 1-2pm A019).
On Thursday we have the Art in Enterprise Lecture by Michelle O’Donnell from Glass Hammer Designs. Michelle is an artist and sculptor and will entertain us with experiences from her extensive work with public and private glass art commissions at home and abroad (Thurs 1-2pm A021).
And if you ever thought about setting up your own business, why not check out the Enterprise Bus and meet a business mentor who can help you figure out the best way to pursue that million dollar idea (Thurs 12-3pm Plaza).
Other events during the week include an interdisciplinary “Dragons Den” competition and entrepreneurship workshops and seminars with local schools and colleges.
So there’s plenty happening – we’d be delighted if you came along to anything that may be of interest.
