IADT Arts Management students organise - *Fashion Backtrax* - 'We are the Generation of Amalgamation' on the 30th of November 2008 in the Sugar Club
The Sugar Club will play host to Fashion Backtrax on the 30th of November; Arts Management students are organising the show that will be a fusion of music and fashion from previous decades in a bid to raise awareness and money for Oxfam Ireland.
On arrival at the plush surroundings of The Sugar Club guests will be greeted by host Devina Devine. As the show begins the audience will be entertained by a live band performing hits from the 1950s to 2000 getting everyone in the mood for a trip down a trend infused musical memory lane, after which the fashion show will ensue, exhibiting the styles which dressed the past 50 decades with the models strutting down the catwalk to remixed beats. All designs will be made from second hand clothing, which will challenge the up and coming Dublin designers.
Lecturer at I.A.D.T Michael Murphy had this to say about the fashion show: "Music and fashion are both vital elements of the modern creative economy. Yet in Ireland, they have often inhabited separate worlds. The innovative concept of bringing these strands of artistic expression together by IADT students demonstrates a holistic approach to the arts. This promises to be a vibrant, intriguing and fun event."
Tickets for the event are available from Fashion Backtrax Box Office (085-8359490) or at the door on the night at E12 or E10 concession.
Student I.D. must be presented at the door.
