IADT's National Film School Flies the Flag at Cork Film Festival

The National Film School (NFS) based in IADT is well represented at the 2008 Corona Cork Film Festival, which began on 12th October and continues until Sunday, 19th. Almost forty per cent (40%) of the selected entries in the Irish Short Film Competition were made by NFS/IADT students, graduates or staff.
These include:
- 'Countdown' by David Tynan, 'Out of the Blue' by Michael Lavelle, and 'Enough' by Film & Televison Production lecturers, Barry Dignam (director) and Jean Rice (producer).
- Sean Branigan's 'Martin', which won the Tiernan MacBride Award in Galway also features in the International Shorts Competition.
- IADT graduate, cinematographer, Robbie Ryan ('Red Road' and 'Brick Lane'), has been honoured by a retrospective and he will present a selection of his short film work as well as music promos and commercials.
- Barry Dignam and Ken Wardrop are taking part in the Outlook sidebar, 'Mise A Aerach', a screening of acclaimed Irish short gay films, followed by a panel discussion.
- 'David Farrell - Elusive Moments', the new documentary by NFS Creative Director, Donald Taylor Black, will receive its world premiere on Thursday, 16th October in the Triskel Arts Centre.
