Each ceremony is expected to last approximately 1 hour and a half.

You and your guest(s) will be required to be seated 20 minutes before the start of the ceremony.

Invitations
In your graduation pack, you will receive 1 invitation that will allow you to bring up to 2 guests to the ceremony.

Confirmation of attendance
Whether you will able to attend your graduation ceremony or not, we would appreciate if you could let us know. In order to do so, you can contact the Graduation Office at conferring@iadt.ie or leaving a message at (01) 239 4711.

Graduation in absentia
Should you not be able to attend the ceremony, your parchment will be awarded to you in absentia.

You will be able to collect your parchment then, from the Academic Affairs Office from the 10th November onwards. The Office is open Monday to Friday from 11am to 3pm.

If you are not able to collect your parchment, you can nominate a person to do so on your behalf. All you have to do is write a letter authorising this person to collect the parchment on your behalf.

Hiring your graduation gown
All graduands must wear a gown at their graduation ceremony. Female graduands will wear a gown and a hood. Male graduands will wear a gown only.

We recommend that you bring safety pins and hair clips (these for female graduands) in order to secure your gown and hood (this for female graduands).

The company providing the gowns for the IADT graduation is Phelan Conan. Phelan Conan offers a pre-booking facility of gowns through their website www.phelanconan.com

The cost of hiring your gown for the ceremony is €35. Pre-booking must be made by the 31st October.

You will collect your gown after you have received your seat number at the registration desk.

If you are not wearing your gown 20 minutes before the ceremony starts, you will not be allowed to enter the graduation hall and graduate in person.

Graduation ceremony
Following the academic processions and introductory speeches, graduands' names will be called alphabetically, following the order provided in the graduation timetable.

When your name is called, you will approach the stage where you will receive your parchment from the IADT President, Mr. Jim Devine.

After you have accepted your parchment, you will return to your seat via the central aisle.

Photography
The official photographers for the day, LaFayette, will be located at the RDS.

Photographs and frames can be booked in advance, as per the LaFayette leaflet you will receive in your graduation pack.

Graduation DVD
For only €10, you can buy on the 5th November a graduation DVD. The ceremonies will be filmed by IADT students in the Honours Degree in Film & Television Production. The DVD will be posted to you in the weeks following the graduation.
