19-05-2008

IADT students have won the overall (UK & Ireland ) Royal Television Society Student Television Award 2007 for best Undergraduate Drama.

The award ceremony, which was attended by key television professionals, students, lecturers and tutors from both UK and Ireland, was held on Friday 16th May, at the Barbican Centre in London . IADT Film Lecturer Barry Dignam accepted the Undergraduate Drama Award on behalf of VINCENT GALLAGHER (Writer/Director) and ANGELA SENIOR (Producer) for their film.

BRIGHT IDEA - “A clever and simple joke worked well as the basis of a nicely observed and well directed short film. The repeat of the ‘outcome’ of the joke gave the film energy and an excellent sense of growing anticipation.”  VINCENT GALLAGHER (Writer/Director) and ANGELA SENIOR (Producer).

Congratulations to Vincent and to Anne O'Leary, Programme coordinator of the BA (Hons) in Film & Television Production, and all her staff.
