FIS
FIS
FÍS (meaning “Vision”) is a group of interrelated projects, empowering educators and communities to maximise learner potential through access to digital media training and education.
In Ireland, we work closely with the Professional Development Service for Teachers to bring digital media skills into the classroom. The FÍS Film Project provides resources for teachers on all aspects of film-making from story-boarding to special effects. Films completed as part of the film project are eligible to enter FÍS Film Festival, the final of which takes place in the Helix Theatre every year. IADT Film & Television Production students record the event as if it were a live broadcast – a tremendously real project for our learners.
Also in collaboration with the PDST, FÍS is this year launching a new FÍS Book Club; an online platform where children upload video reviews of books they have read independently. The FÍS Book Club provides an opportunity for all readers at all levels and from all backgrounds to engage with reading in a new way, learning a range of other personal, team working and technical skills in the process.
