You will be regarded as a ‘Standard Applicant’ if you:

  • are under 23 years of age on 1st of January in the year of entry to your desired programme, and
  • have completed the Leaving Certificate, GCSE/GCE (or an equivalent examination).

2. Non-standard applicants

You will be regarded as a ‘Non-Standard Applicant’ if you:

If you fall within this ‘non-standard’ category it is essential that you provide all relevant supporting documentation as requested on page 3 and 4 of the CAO application form.

3. Mature applicants

Mature applicants are 23 years of age or over on the 1st of January in the year of entry to an IADT programme.
Such applicants are not required to meet the minimum entry requirements specified for standard applicants. However, it is essential that mature applicants provide all relevant supporting documentation as requested on page 3 and 4 of the CAO application form.
A limited number of places are reserved on all our programmes for mature students.
All applicants, including mature applicants, to programmes in the School of Creative Arts will be required to submit a portfolio.

5. Applicants with a disability and/or Specific Learning Difficulties

IADT is committed, where practicable, to full inclusion of students with disabilities and/or specific learning difficulties. We aim to provide a suitable learning environment for all our students; applicants with disabilities and/or learning difficulties must inform IADT of their needs, if any, when making an application to the CAO or directly to IADT. CAO Applicants who have ticked the ‘Disability/SLD’ Box on page 1 of the CAO application form will receive the ‘Supplementary Information Form’ from the CAO.  This must be completed and returned to the CAO. Such students may be invited to an informal interview to discuss their application and any additional provisions that may be necessary to ensure their full participation on our programmes.
