2009 presents the third class to graduate
from This year’s show presents a wide range of exciting ideas that demonstrate the expanding currency of visual communication into areas such information visualisation, product development, web and mobile applications and digital film-making. Many of the projects use ‘designerly ways’ of thinking and making to produce product prototypes, branding and identity proposals and awareness campaigns about contemporary cultural issues. The inventive nature of the work on show also suggests an entrepreneurial quality that is much needed and sought after in the current economic climate. The students have engaged whole-heartedly with diverse subject matter, which ranges from current cultural, social, environmental and political issues such as: bilingualism, internet usage, Dublin’s water shortage and the Lisbon Treaty. Increasingly IADT’s Visual Communication graduates are demonstrating their abilities to author and create aesthetic and functional design that communicates across a wide range of media to a broad range of audiences. |
