The Visual Communication Design programme at IADT is a four year honours degree with three core strands; The programme explores critical thinking, creative problem solving and the relationship between theory and practice through a broad range of practical subjects. The programme promotes an inter-disciplinary approach and projects concepts and outcomes are explored across media. Our comprehensive programme of study requires an appropriate commitment and level of engagement by students to succeed in meeting their goals as they become professional designers. Independent study and research is encouraged at all levels of the programme. This contributes to the development of the student's own practice and working methods. Through practical projects, workshops, lectures and seminars students develop their knowledge and understanding of graphic design. On successful completion of the programme, students should have produced a comprehensive portfolio of creative design work, which provides evidence of their comprehension skills and creativity across a broad range of subject areas. This portfolio should effectively demonstrate their ability to work in diverse media as a visual communication designer and provide evidence of their ability to work independently and as part of a team. |
