The object was to take an audio clip from two different films from different era's in cinematic history and animate the dialogue through kinetic typography. If you type 'kinetic typography' into Youtube, the first 'hit' is a brilliantly executed take on a Samual L. Jackson quote from Pulp Fiction. The majority of the other videos are both decent and not so decent imitations of this. My aim was to capture the mood of the two scenes i chose [Cat On A Hot Tin Roof & Fight Club], in what i hoped was a different way.
Some elements work, others were rushed and don't work as well [Fight Club], and it's need for a re-edit, nags me everytime i watch it, but ultimately it was a very enjoyable project and i'm happy with it. It was also good to be back using After Effects. And until this project, i had no idea what 'mendacity' meant.
