Project: Bag Design
Title: The Ink Splash Bag
Year: 2006

The aim of this project was to design a bag for a shop of our choice. After about a year of gruelling typographic exercises, the chance for creative freedom came as a nice surprise, but ultimately led to a lot of indecision and frustration. I knew i wanted to make a bag for a record shop, but i just couldn't come up with an idea.

One lucky day though, i was knocked out of a hopeless stupor by prophanities from across the studio. I looked over to see Lynzi had knocked an entire bottle of black ink onto the floor. Brilliant! Ever the Pollock fan, i knew i saw something. Before she could clean it up, i placed a large sheet of paper on top of the ink. In the pattern, after some 'thorough' inspection, i thought i saw what looked like a face, and i pretty much developed the design from there. Cheers Lynzi!
