A high proportion of students in this class will be applying for CAO college entry in 2018. The objectives are to learn how to construct projects from concept to completion, how to use research notebooks, process images and develop their ideas through 2D, 3D and colour.
Students will learn how to create a relevant, personal and individual comprehensive Portfolio. A home study programme will be an integral part of the course. See booking details below.

This course is designed for students wishing to apply for a degree in Animation. Students will be given a broad introduction to the subject with the view to creating suitable portfolios for entry into third level. There will be strong emphasis on notebook and research work for character development. Students will be taught to create their own characters through storyboarding. Individual interests and initiatives will be encouraged within the over all structure of this course.
Fees must be paid in full when booking. Places can only be allocated on payment of the full course fee. Cash will not be accepted.

Students may book in person at the Part Time Office, Media Cube, Room M002 between 9.30am-12pm (Monday – Friday).
A 50% discount is available to unemployed persons once the course is already financially viable on production of a current letter from The Department of Social and Family Affairs. Senior Citizens aged 65 and over receive a discount for these courses. Where the fee is greater than €150, a €25 discount will apply.
Students who cancel their booking with the Course Secretarial at least 10 working days prior to the start of classes will receive a refund of fees, less €50 for administration. All classes require a minimum number of participants to run. Where this is not achieved fees will be refunded automatically.
Week night classes run from 7pm - 9.30pm unless otherwise stated.
Saturday afternoon Portfolio Preparation class runs from 2pm - 4pm.
Saturday afternoon Animation Portfolio class runs from 1.30pm - 4.30pm.
All students must park in their designated space and display their parking permit otherwise the Pay & Display system applies.
IADT reserves the right to close a class, which has ceased to be viable.
