BA [Hons] Creative Music Production

Creative Music Production is the integration of core sound engineering skills and creative audio practice. The Programme offers a sustained creative pathway enabling and enhancing the production of music and audio. This ethos of creativity linked with technical prowess is core to all modules which will focus on industry standard tools and processes, and learning the ability to work with artists and clients. The Creative Music Production Programme at level 8 is delivered collaboratively by IADT and the Sound Training College (STC). This unique Programme utilizes some of Ireland’s leading commercial recording studios as teaching spaces. Lecturers include some of the finest sound engineering/music industry practitioners in the contemporary music scene. This shared delivery offers globally unique benefits; appropriate modules will be taught in commercial studio and music production facilities at STC.

What will I be able to do when I graduate?

Opportunities exist for graduates to undertake a huge variety of careers in the growing music and new media industries, with new opportunities constantly arising. Year 1
Sound Engineering; Audio Production; Broadcast; Music Theory; Acoustics; Audio Technology Fundamentals.

Year 2
Advanced Sound Engineering; Advanced Audio Production; Music Theory 2; Critical Listening; Electronics; Creative Audio Programming.

Year 3
Major Project, in which you master your creative and technical skills; Critical Listening 2; Music Industry Studies; Interactive Performance Systems, Audio for Games.

Year 4

Major Project showcasing specialisation, Advanced Music Composition, Creative Entrepreneurship, Advanced Studio Engineering & Production
